Angry professional help please! I'm stuck.

I'm running a 351W with stock 5.0 heads, some kind of cam, GT40 lower, cobra upper, 80mm maf, 70mm tb, 30lb injectors, 190lph pump, 1 5/8 equal length hedmans, h-pipe, dynomax race bullets, & 4" tips. I'm not sure if it's a roller block or not. My best time was 14.665 @ 95.9mph. I think that's frickin slow. timing is @ 14, i still have the stock computer. What should I do. I'm thinking of going with 24 pounders instead of 30s. Should I get a chip? Will that make my computer work properly with my mods even though it's a 5.0 computer & not a 5.8, or maybe with the chip I don't have to change the injectors. I think the injectors are too big, I'm running rich so any advice would be greatly appreciated.I'm still running 2.73s, & stock T5. I could throw some better heads on there but if I buy performance heads, I should buy a cam that'll match with the heads for best power. So maybe I should get these rebuilt & ported/polished, the whole works. After the track, i now have blue smoke coming from my driver's side exhaust pipe when i race, could it be the head, my oil pressure is barely over the red line on the gauge but it constantly flactuates. when i put it in 1st & let go the clutch & the rpms drop a little, the oil pressure gauge needle falls down dompletely until the car starts moving. do I need to rebuild the engine? Please help.

Well you might not need to rebuild it now but if you keep driving it like that you will soon.

Oil pressure shouldnt fluctuate from to much to none.
The computer is fine what type of MAF is it is it calibrated for 30" .
What type of distributor are you running ?

dont waste the money on porting E7 heads you can buy 69-70 351 heads for around 50 bucks.

I would do a compression test and a leak down test right away to know where your at.

what are you shifting at and what gear are you going through the traps in ?
what year is your block ?

let us know and then well let you know."even though your from Edmonton."

where did the 351 come from?? did u just get it from a wrecking yard and drop it in?? might have alot of miles on it.

when does the smoke come out?? when driving? when you first start and then it stops? don't waste your time on stock 302 heads on a 351. by the time you get them rebuilt and ported and ploished you could buy a good set of iron head or maybe even aluminums.

hmmm, there definitely appears to be something wrong there. as for the oil gauge jumping, that is probably just the sending unit needing replaced. try that and see if it helps.
i really dont know much about the 351's but could it be that the firing order is changed??? just a wild guess.
it could very well just be them stock 5.0 heads also. do you know which year 5.0 they are from? prior to 87 and they will be even worse.
good luck,

It might not be as bad as you think. I had a similar problem and it ended being a stuck releif valve in the oil pump. Fords are notorious for their oil pumps.__or so I'm told. Out of a dozen fords, only one had this problem. My 347. Although after reading your post more carefully, it sounds like your cam bearings are worn. Do you hear and knocking?( bottum end....crank)
