Question Convertible Top Question

OK I JUST PURCHASED A 1989 MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE AND IT SEEMS THE THE TOP DOES NOT SINK INTO THE BODY AS MUCH AS THE 1992 I ONCE OWNED. I HEARD THAT THEY CHANGED SOMETHING IN THE 1991 MODLE TO MAKE IT DROP DOWN FURTHER CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT THEY DID? DID THEY JUST SINK THE INNER REAR FENDER WELLS MORE TO LET IT SIT IN THERE LOWER? ANY IDEAS PLEASE REPLY

I've had both an 89' and now a 91' and I can't tell any noticeable difference between the two years and how low the top will go. If something changed, it wasn't much of a change. Wish I could really give you some exact answers.

I have a 91 Conv., and when comparing it to my friends 87 Conv., I could see that my top went into the body more and was more hidden when down. the 87-88 tops are basically the same set up, they just are up higher when down.
