will egr solve problem?
 

In my 88 lx I have a 306 and the egr valve is not hooked up. when I start my car when it is cold it doesn't like to stay running and the idle goes up and down untill it is warmed up. Once it is warmed up it ides very nice. I have a X-303 cam in it. The reason I am asking if the egr valve will fix this problem is because I am taking this engine out of my lx and I am putting it in to my 89 gt that has the stock motor. And I want it to run right when I have it in. I plan on changing the motor pretty soon, withing the next month. Also I dont know if this is of any good information but the timming is at 20 degrees. thanks and help will be greatly appreciated.
