Will a flywheel from an '85 work on a later 5.0?
I know my flywheel is toast. I have a mint flywheel from 20,000 mile '85 GT. I know that '85's had a 10" clutch, but the shop owner who gave it to me said it will have both bolt patterns and work fine?

It can work, there will be 3 bolt holes that will line up with the 10 1/2" pressure plate. Take the pressure plate and flywheel to a machine shop and have them drill the remaining holes and have them fit it with dowel pins. I had this done with my stock 82 flywheel when I got a 10 1/2" clutch.

I figured as much. I think i'll save the headache and just spend the 100 bucks on a new replacement flywheel.
