Will shorter tires help?

Is running a shorter tire the same as changing your gear ratios? I was told I could get more performance running a shorter slick than I have now. Going from a 28" to a 26". Anybody have any info that could help? Thanks

Depends on your combination. a shorter tire will get you out the of the hole faster and should help with 60 ft. times. Some people need a 28 incher though because they overpower a 26, or they need more top speed at the end of the track

go to the analyzer here and you can see the effect diff tires will have on your rpms.

The difference between a 28 and a 26 inch tire is huge. My car ran better with the 26 inch tires.
