Will Smog Delete cause EFI Problems?
If my air pump is gone, can I get into closed loop?
Without Airpump will it messup the fuel calibration or the calibration of the O2 Sensors? |
Yes.
No. The important question is how you plan to go about it. Are you deleting your catalytic converters, too? If not, the lack of air being pumped to your cats will lead to clogged cats. |
Im already running an off-road H-pipe with no cats

There's no reason to keep the pump if you're running with no cats.
|
That's a great point Jim...how ya been!!??
I've ran no cats/no smog pump and had no problems with regards to check engine lights. Stumbling idle, irratic part throttle response, etc. were my problems before I got my chip. Good luck Quote:

emissions
removing the airpump will not affect the loop status but will affect emmissions. it will cause high co and nox readings. all that the pump does is force clean air into the exhaust lowering the readings.
|
It pumps air into the cats so that there is oxygen available for converting HCs to H2O and CO into CO2.

air pump
basically, but the cats clean the air and the airpump is simply a secondary or helper. it couldn't do it alone.

Never mind...
