will a spool live

I was wanting to upgrade my rear end and was going for strang 31spine axles and 3.73 gears but it will see the strip on some weekends and the street on some weekends and nice and sunny days so will a spool live on the street or do I have to settle with a locker that once you start thorwing real power at on slicks they just dont seem to hold up
thankz for any help

In my opinion a spool is a bad choice. They are downright annoying to drive on the street. Sure you like the er er er er er around slow corners at first, but it gets old quick.

I personally ditched the spool and went with a 31 spline diff. from an Explorer. It's just a heavy duty Traction-lock.

Eaton also makes a really nice diff, as well as the Auburn Pro. I think you can check out Eaton at www.Eatonposi.com

"31 spline diff. from an Explorer..."

I'm going to have to pick one of those up some day...

Which year models have those and will the 31 spline axles from the Explorer fit in our 80's model 8.8?
