Question windage tray labor

What is involved in bolting on the windage tray relative to the bottom end of the motor alone on my '91 5.0? Do alot of parts have to be removed to install it? Is labor expensive?

I am already having a new oil pump installed (parts and labor $300) but I don't want to get price gouged for a windage tray. Thanx

Should be zero. Most trays require the removal of the oil pump for installation. There shouldn't be any more than replacing 4 main bolts with bolts that have thread after the head for mounting the tray. 8 minutes, tops.

Take care,

Thanx PKRWUD,

I'll tell the tech at the shop some of what you said so he won't charge me much more. Plus I saw windage trays starting at $60. That's cheap considering they say you get up to 20hp from it! Do you have any experience with a before and after install?
