Wiring harnesses and A9L needed.

I'm converting an 88 4cyl Notch to a V8 and need a little help.

What harnesses do I need, and from what year of car? I was told I need an 87 or 88 speed density harness setup with the mass air conversion.

But what all wiring does the harness consist of? Where does it all run through the car so I know what I can yank from the 4cy car to get it ready to paint?

Thanks.

Kev, I think you might have miss understood me or I wasn't clear. You don't need a density harness, a mass air harness off of a 89 -93 is ideal, but what I ment to say was that you canget buy with a density and a conversion kit. Sorry for the confussion.

Well, I was stating this on info I got from the guy in Tennessee Tim. It's nothing you said to me. I'm just a very confused individual :p

Painless Wiring has a complete wiring harness. The only problem is that it is $460

I found one if the guy ever emails me back (hint hint to so and so). I was considering Painless but I figured I'd look for cheaper alternatives first. Glad I did.

I've got the wiring diagram at home. I should be able to look and see if the computer power supply connections would be the same on your 4-cyl for a later (90-93) 8-cyl. I would think they are, but I could be wrong. I seem to remember that the computer harness was completely independent of the dash/main wiring except for two square 6 or 8 pin connectors near the computer, tucked into the right side kick panel. I'll try to find the time tonight to look it up.

Thanks Jeff. That would be helpful to know. I've turned down 3 or 4 harnesses because they were from newer cars.

I was thinking the guy I bought the car from told me I would need the 87-88 harness for the instrument cluster or something??
