Quick help on Tach wire for MSD6a
Im hooking up a Mallory window switch, and it needs to hook up to the tach wire on my after market ignition.. I have a MSD6a thats been hooked up for years now. What wire do I hook it up to?

Well...if you've hooked in the tach wire to the MSD box, it should be easy. The tach wire will be coming out of the tach port on the box. If not, here's what I did when I needed to get my tach working again after the ignition control module was gone (which I know isn't your problem...but I found the tach wire). I cut into the heat shielding that was on the wires to the ignition control module. Then, look for the tach sending wire (mine was green with a yellow tracer on it). Cut that out of the harness and hook it up to your window switch. This worked for my car, but I have an '84. It had the Duraspark II system, but it didn't have TFI. My guess is they're probably the same though. Good luck.

The tach wire port is on the left end of the 6AL, all by itself. There's a male spade connector built into the casing that the tach lead attaches to. Same end of the housing as the crank trigger wires/connector that usually doesn't get used.
