Would this help?

Hey guys
Can I remove the MAF screen? If not, can I cut it out? It probably wouldn't do that much, but has anyone done this? WOuld it be a waste of time and would it mess anything up.

Thanks

right in front of sreen there is a retaining ring. remove that sreen comes out. but i think the sreen is to catch any thing that gets by the filter. summit is selling 73 vortec mam for $125 now. just bought one my self.

yeah, you can do this, but i would say its almost not worth the trouble. id just wait till you get an aftermarket unit that doesnt have a screen in it http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif

Dont do it...it's there to smooth the airflow, like the little screen in your water faucet. I took mine out, and my idle sucked.
