a lot of the engine parts will work...but will be different between the models. the bodys on those cars are different. the model years are 79-86 and 87-93. the 79-86 models are carbed, the 87-93, fuel injected. anything specific your looking for?

Damn near everything will swap over, if you get all the parts to swap from one vehicle it will work in the other (although obviously you may need to do alot of work if converting from carb to EFI, auto to manual, etc.). Basically the big differences lie between the cars with the 5.0L/Heavy Duty suspension/drivetrain and all the others. The 5.0L's have quite a few parts that would be required to swap with others (for example, the front spindles and struts for the bigger brakes, along with the master cylinder, maybe brake booster, sway bar brackets and sway bar, etc. etc.) What is the exact swap you're looking for, there are too many variations within the years to really give you a 100% answer. good luck

thank yall very much. the one thing i am looking for right now is a 5.0 in running condition, and that someone will trade for a v6, or sell for practicaly free. i dont have that much $$$ right now. but hey it takes time to do stuff right. so if n e one has a 5.0 give me a holler. another thing i am looking for is, can you turn a LX, or just plain v6 mustang into something that looks like the GT. i love the GT, but at the price i am getting the v6, i just cant pass it up.

GT bodies are the same as the non-GT's... just add a rear spoiler and some ground effects, hood scoop, wheels and the badges, and there you go.. a wanna be, GT..

As far as engine goes, you can use everything, (86 was first year of efi.) as far as using body panels you can't unless you do major modifications. the short block on the '86 is better, i think it has forged pistons, but i wouldn't use anything from an '87 because it's not any better.
