Yes, finally a 351!!!!

I just came across a working 351w for 75.00. I am not that knowledgable when it comes to internal engine s**t. My questions are :
1.What should I look for when rebuilding this block

2.I'm looking to rebuild with about 500hp, N/A (of course) what do I need to modify to get there

3:I need recomedations for a tranny that can handle 500-600hp, someone suggested a TKO, does anybody agree

4:I haven't even looked at the mounts or anything, will this 351 from a mid 80's F250 fit in my 86GT

5:What components are interchangable 302/351

that is a steal if its in good shape, when you get it, take it to a good machine shop and get it checked out ( i believe that you want it "magnafluxed"). For 500hp from a 351, you'll need a solid bottom end (eagle components), i'd say go with flycut pistons for the hell of it. some good heads (AFR 185). that would probably be 400-450hp, to get 500+, your best bet is a stroker.

you can get 351 swap mounts from a number of catalogs. interchangable between 302 and 351: heads, upper intake (as long as it matches same style lower intake), oil pump, camshaft, oil pan (?).
