Default Replacking Stock Heads

Hey I have an 89 LX 5.0 mustang and the compression is bad on 3 cylinder. I want get rebuilt head, but don't know which head to buy for power and heads that will bolt right up to my old block. The ones I looking into are Eelbrock Victor Jr, or FORD RACING 302/351W SET HEAD. I want power, but I also do not want to spen more money exchanging and interchanging things. Will I need a CAM, What the best advised

Low compression doesn't mean it's the head for sure, could be piston rings as well. Should get it checked out to be safe. My vote is for some Trickflow heads. You won't need a cam with these heads, however, it will be easy to swap out at that time. You need to figure out what you want to do with the car, full race car, or street/strip type car. Then go from there. Good luck.

best way to tell is doin a leak down check....the way to do it is bringing the #3 cylnder to the compression stroke with both valves closed....then screw your compression tester in to cyl. #3 leave the gauge off and hook an air line up to it so u have compressed air running thru and in to the cyl #3 ....now as long as the #3 cyl is on the compression stroke with the valves closed listen to the tail pipe and the intake if theres air comming out from there u have a bad valve....if it comes out the radiator u have a bad head gasket...out of the oil cap bad rings....good luck
