|  starts but as soon as i put key into run possition it stalls i just swaped motors from my 92 mustang and put it into a 89 and now it dont wanna run unless i have the key in the starting possition when i let the key go it stalls right away im lost any ideas will work thanks for your time |

| Re: starts but as soon as i put key into run possition it stalls check your starter solenoid sounds like the computer power wire is on the wrong side ..one side should be just the wire going to the starter and the other is the battery and all other wires ..i think the computer wire is blue.let me know if that isnt it

| Re: starts but as soon as i put key into run possition it stalls nope thats not it al wires are on the battery side but the starter wire but thanks for advise im going to try to change the ignition switch but i have to find the tool to take it off and im hoping that is the problem but if you have any other suggestions im willing to try anything i miss driving a real car  but THANKS AGAIN |

| Re: starts but as soon as i put key into run possition it stalls thats sux i had a few friends that did that and i pulled my hair out untill i figured it out. u can use vise grips to get the tamper proof torx screws out of the switch.sounds like something stupid tho.

| Re: starts but as soon as i put key into run possition it stalls Well, it sounds to me like the ignition switch or the computer isn't telling the fuel pump relay to stay on with the key in the run position. These types of problems can be a real pita to hunt down, but knowing how many problems Ford has with the ignition switches on these cars, that would be the first thing I would look at. |
