Default Goofy Pms

I got a good 1, my Anderson PMS shows the timing going from 25 at idle to 54 as soon as i give it any throttle. and it wont stay there, the timing moves around quite a bit. 30-54 degrees. what in the blue blazes is causing this? whenever the car is warmed up, it refuses to idle. starts the surging crap and dies. i cant find any vacuum leaks. i went so far as to do the ether test all around the intake and powerpipe looking for somewhere it may be sucking un-metered air. all to no avail. anyone got any fresh ideas?

Talked to Rick at Anderson, he says dont worry. this is normal when in low load and stand alone is not engaged yet. means the Ford eec is doing what its suppossed to do. he also gave me a process to get it to idle. it worked. im happy now, i can stage without re-firing the engine 5 times. Too bad my dyno tuner couldn't do this.
