I remember Ford tested a Cobra trying to hit 200mph years ago. They wanted to see how much it would take a Fox body to make it to 200.
740hp was the number they came up with. After shredding some supercharger belts on the giant blower they did. |

Anyone want to do the math? Its got 4.11 gears in back (I thought it was 4.10.....), and the revlimiter is at 6000. Would that even make it to 200mph with a .68 overdrive? I don't know about you, but if I was trying to get a car to go 200mph, I wouldn't use such a steep gear.

Overdrive is not a very strong gear on the T-5, I don't know how strong it is on the "trimmet 350" transmission is. Hehe, what an idiot, must be a special edition tremec 3550.
4.11's are in the Ford 9" rear end, 4.10's go with the 8.8". He'd need to turn about 7400rpm to hit 200mph with the .68 overdrive. |
