Question 2.3L longevity???

I recently bought a 1990 LX with 144,000 miles on it. It seems to have been well cared for and the oil changed regularly. Does anyone know how many miles it might last before it need to be rebuilt?

Totally depends on how the engine performs. It could last over 200,000, if it has been well cared for and continues to be. Mine has 114,000 and runs like new.

If it does need rebuilt, don't rebuild the regular 2.3, drop in a 2.3 turbo... similar gas mileage and kickass acceleration.
