I'm putting dual exhaust on my 99 V6. Takeoffs from a 99 GT from Saleen for $40 plus shipping, currently in transit. I believe the 99 and 00 are pretty much identical so I can tell you what I've learned about the 99.
I believe you can put any duals that will fit on a GT on your V6. But since the GT has more cats than a V6, the duals will come up a little short. So you must have a custom piece made (H or X or straight) to fill the gap between the mufflers and cats. PaceSetter makes an adapter but I've heard that it won't fit the 99-00. I'm not sure what it's gonna cost for the custom piece yet, but I've heard it will be about $100-$150.

Take a look here: http://members.home.net/pfand/exhaust.html

Good Luck

Thanks for your knowledge. Anything else you might know about (cheap upgrades)will be greatly appreciated. I want to be the only chic with a mustang passing all the boys in their 4.sick. Which by the way I can hang with.

Thanks again.

In my book, chicks in 'stangs are always better than d*cks in 'stangs
Right now I concentrating on the looks of my car, so I don't know an awful lot about cheap power upgrades. It's kinda hard finding parts for the V6, especially the 99-00. Seems like everything is still being designed for them. I'm waiting until spring to start on that (winter sucks).
One of the cheapest upgrades is to get a K&N air filter, about $40.
You can also remove the air intake silencer, although, I took mine off and it felt as though I lost something, so I put it back on.
Go to mustangworld.com for details.

Cold air induction is also pretty cheap. You can go to the url in the previous post to find what's involved with that.
Those and the duals are the only power cheapies that I know of at the moment, sorry I can't give you more.

Black V6
K&N
Cobra R's
BFG T/A 275/40,245/45

near future:
GT duals

Thanks for getting back so soon. I know about the K&N filter and the air silencer but I was kinda scared to take it off. I am also going to do something to the appearance of the car. My car is electric green so it already stands out but I want to put steeda
stuff on it so I can be unique. I hear they are coming out with some other kind of cool air induction for us newer body styles. I dont know maybe I heard wrong. Thanks again for writing back.

Cool

Hey green, if you remove the air silencer with the stock air filter box, you will loose HP! Yes you will get more air, but it will be hot air, therefore you loose power by taking in hot air, if you are going to remove it, Mac has a new cold air induction kit for the 94-2000 stangs
