2005 Mustang GT for Charity
Folks:
I am currently on a waiting list for an '05 GT. I have been assured that we will be able to get the car. I am hoping for a Vert, but I have no info on availability yet. The thing is, the car is going to be raffled in the Spring/Summer to raise money to help build an isolation house for children with cancer. As the VP of the organization, I have a lot at stake if this raffle flops. We have to guarentee that we will purchase the car even if the raffle is a bomb and then be stuck trying to get rid of it, which may not be a problem anyway. We plant to sell a maxiumum of 1000 tickets at $100 each. I have seen a number of other raffles that have followed this same formula with excellent results. Obviously, not everyone can afford the ticket, but the winner will also have to pay income tax on the car by the end of the year. So, folks with smaller funds, might not be able to afford winning the car either. Another option for the winner, would be to sell it. If you have an opinion about this, let me know. Am I nuts? When we are ready to go, I plan to hit up all of the Mustang Clubs. The car can be sent anywhere in the 50 states. Blake

What a great idea to raise money for a worthy cause! I'm not sure when the tax write off date is for this year but I know most people like to get in that last charitable donation before the tax year ends Keep us posted, sounds like a good cause!

Not nuts at all. I've blown a heck of a lot more then a hundred dollars at the casino's, and that sure as hell goes to nothing but making the rich richer. Something like this is great. I've seen raffle's like this before and they usually do rather well. A table at a car show or Ford event can usually pull in some people.
I'd say put me down for one, but I just spent $450 on college books today, so I am flat broke right now.

I spoke to another dealer today. The owner's wife was the college roomate of one of our board members. Sounds like they will be quite helpful and will allow us to take the car to events and such without purchasing the car. We will get the car May-August timeframe and will not start selling tickets until dealers have received allocation order forms which shoud be by April. This should give us some solid summer months.
I am going to try for a topless one, but we settle for a coupe. We are hoping to be able to sell tickets online as well as via mail. If nothing else we will have an order form that can be downloaded and mailed to us. The tickets will be numbered as cash is received and the purchaser will receive a receipt with a numbered ticket. Colors? Options? I plan to go loaded and the car will probably be red. I will provide more details in the comming months. If anyone feels that this is an inappropriate use of this message board, I apologize. But, I believe I am merely discussing a concept and not doing any advertising. Any feedback is welcome. If you have access to a local Mustang Club that may be interested, please email me directly. Blake
