Default 3.8 rearend woes.....

Hi All...
Gosh, wish we had this computer forum stuff when we were all playin with muscle cars in the 70's !!!

I raced a vintage Trans-Am '69 Mustang a few years ago, loved it, went on and raced FormulaFord for about 13 yrs after that. My girlfriends first car was a Mustang and now we found and bought a '01 3.8, 84.000mls all black Mustang for her daughters first car. REAL sweet...( first payment 5 sec. late, Mom gets car...)

We are getting a noise in the rearend. Accelerates fine, no noise, lift off gas and coast, as you drop to 40mph through 30mph a howl from the rear. Not loud but there. Apply even the slightest gas, noise disappears instantly.

We have the 1000/30day B2B warrenty so we are trying to get this addressed as soon as possable. I am delivering car in person wed. and will ride around with mechanic.

Please share any thoughts you may have on this and suggestions for the dealership we bought from.

Thanks in advance,
Allan
