Cool rpm woes

Hello all, I have recently purchased a '95 mustang gts 5-speed. I love the car and have a long list of upgrades in mind. However, I have a small problem When I change gears the rpms actually climb about 300 rpm then it falls as expected! even with my foot off the gas ( its like i wait too long to remove my foot from the gas) Is there a problem with my driving or is it a sensor or a bad cable . Its like speedshifting all the time! It makes me look lame I've driven manual trans cars a lot whats the deal?!!! Thanks

Have you checked for any codes? My '89 did that at one time and the TPS was bad.

when you come to a stop, does the car wanna Idle up a lil.. and when you knock the car out of gear going down the road does it stay idled high? then drop

Sounds like TPS if this is true. or IAC motor needs cleaning and check for vacum leaks

My '93 does the same thing. I always figured it was the way the computer controlled the engine.

Wink

Ok, I found the IAC valve in my trusty Hanes manual and I'll clean it and see what happens! Thanks.
