Wheels and Tires...HELP !
I have a 89 GT. I now have four 15x7 Centerline warrior wheels with a 5" backspacing with P225-50-15's all around. I want to put two Centerline Warrior Wheels in the back These wheels are gonna be 15x8 1/2 also with a 5" backspacing to give the car the drag racing look. Another words deeper dish in the rear than the fronts. Question is, Will these fit under the rear quarters and fill them out, or will they stick out too far ? Also I am gonna put the 225-50-15's back on the new wheels will this realy screw with the cars stance ? If so can I go with 235-50-15's (To correct the stance), or will they make the wheels stick out too much too. I needs some technical help from my fellow Mustangers. Any hep would be appreciated.

It will look fine, but please don't even think about putting that skinny of a tire on the rear
on an 8.5" rim, a 255 or 265 series would be good. I have 265/50's on my 7.5" wheels and they dont stick out bad at all, so I'd think the same thing on an 8.5" wheel would look great. If you want an even meaner look, go for some 275/50 BFG drag radials in the rear.

As the other guys metioned, those specs should be fine. However, I can say that for me I am not absolutely sure about the backspacing #. If you look on my sig, you'll see the tire sizes I have on my '79 and I would think if I'm doing fine with those, you should be able to at least get away with the same rim/tire combos. Let it be known, however, that I did have to roll my rear fender well lips (easy and harmless, and IMO, looks better than original) b/c the 275s would scrape the lip (almost cutting the side of the tire). Now it doesn't scrape AT ALL and everything is crisp. With your 89 GT, you may not have to do this at all, only maybe worry about the quads...
Have you considered 15x9s for the back. I plan on getting those in the far future. As far as the sticking out part, buy the rim you want (don't mount the tire on it yet-- cause if you do, and it is the wrong size, they won't let return the rim for refund) and without a tire on it, put it on the back and bolt it loosely with the lug nuts. See how it looks from a few different angles (from back of car, from side, from side front, etc). It should at the most be flush with the fender well lip (even better if it is about 0.5-1" inside the fender instead of flush). Of course, if it extends

Well I have got the wheels on and they look great. Thanks everyone for your help. The wheels look great. Everyone likes it. Although I can now see what 5.0patrol says about the tires being to skinny. It kinda looks like I have low profile's in the back. The car is going away in storage in a couple of weeks (Winter is comming quickley out here). Next spring when I get it back out of storage I will DEFINETLEY put different tires on the rears. I take it 235, or 245's should be what I go with ???? Once again thanks for all your help. I will try to get some pics posted to get your feedback.
