Default 7.5 to 8.8

I have a 91LX 4banger what is involved in switching over to the 8.8 rear end does it just bolt right up?

I believe it is pretty much a bolt right up. Except for the fact that it is set up for the quad shock setup, and I am almost certain the 7.5 does not have the quad shock setup. This is a very small problem, but thought you should know.

Actually, it would be a direct bolt in. The only axle in the fox body that NEVER had quad shocks was the 6.75" axle. Both 7.5 and 8.8 had it available. The quads are there to reduce axle hop, not to support the vehicle, so all you'd have to do is eliminate the two extra dampeners. Swapping the rear is a breeze, it's pretty much self explanatory. (10 bolts, 2 park brake cables, 1 brake hose)
