Default 86 3.8L T-Bird

My brother has an 86 3.8L T-Bird. My question is this: Is there anything you can do it to help fuel injection? It currently has two worthless injectors. One injector for each side or 3 cylinders. Would putting on a 4-barrel carb be better than this? The car will get up and go but I know he wants more performance than what it has. I feel the injection on this car sucks and is hindering its performance. Any thoughts?
