Default 92 SHO tranny removal probs.


I unbolted everything and still no clearence.I unbolted the motor mounts,but they only dropped 1inch.should I try too pry it down.this is my 1st time and have no idea on front wheel drive.someone help!

You need to remove the entire cradle and support the engine from the top with some kind of beams across the fenders and one across the firewall and the radiator support. Then remove the trans. You'll never get it out any other way. Keep all motor mounts attached except the ones that are hooked to the cradle. You'll need to pull the axles as well. It's a big job, and a hoist would help a ton.

Before you remove the cradle, you need to mark it so it is back in exactly the same spot, or it will throw the alignment off. Might be a good idea to have it aligned afterwards anyway.
