Question number one cylinder

This may sound trivial, but I just picked up a 67 Mustang with a 302 (early small block) and need to know which cylinder is number one. My last Mustang was a 65 over 30 years ago and I don't have any information. I've owned other econo boxes and other makes but have finally come back to my first love, in cars that is. Thank you in advance.

#1 cylinder is the forward-most cyinder on the passenger side bank of cyliders. Then 2,3,and 4 on that same bank. #5 is the forward most cylinder on the driver side bank of cylinders with 6,7, and 8 after that. GM and Mopar have different configurations.

Thumbs up Thanks to REV:

Thanks REV:

I was taking some baseline readings on my 67 Mustang as the previous owners didn't have much in the way of a build sheet. The car runs pretty strong although I really haven't driven a muscle car in quite awhile. It has a 302, crane cam, rollers, 650 double pumper, full length headers (don't know what type), 9" rearend with 4.10 gears, 4 speed top loader, Edelbrock manifold, MSD 6A with a Mallory Voltmaster coil. I just spent the day changing the oil, lubing and crawling under it looking for anything that might need immediate attention but only found one loose wire and a cut rubber cup on the steering linkage joint.

Thanks again, your info really helped while I wait for my shop manual that I ordered on the internet.
