'98 V6

My '98 V6 5spd has developed a creeking noise from the right rear. The noise only happens on accelerating in 1st gear and sometimes in 2nd. Any suggestions?
Thanks

not sure could be brakes. Could be axle or drive shaft.

Do you have sub-frame connectors? Stangs have a habit of "losening up" over time. Could be the chassis flexing under load, causing body panels or interior panels to creak as they move around a little. Subs are always a good iead for a stang, it may solve your problem.

Thanks for your reply. I think you are right and this has been my thought since the creek appears to be coming from the welded brackets for the upper control arm. I have applied some spray undercoat sound deadner in the area and have applied some self sticking sound deading panels from the inside. It has helped but I am still looking.

I did see a posting on Flatrate tech that a Mustang owner found that the control arm bracket welds had broken loose on a '01 GT.
Thanks again!
