Default 98 v6 to a 95 v6?

ok.. sorry if i seem like a complete idiot... but this is my first project with a mustang... i already own a 95 that i drive one a daily basis.. but i found another 95 and it needs a new motor so at the price i coudlnt pass it up and it if igured it would be a great project to start..... well i found a motor at a great deal and i have a few questions.....-
is it possible to take a 3.8L v6 engine form a 98 mustang and it fit perfectly into a 95 3.8L v6 mustang? Im not to sure how to find out if it will work or not ... i have all the interchanger #'s from the 98 motor..... but how do i find out what the interchanger # on the 95 is? I know from the research that i did that a 95 v6 3.8 the vin # is 4.. and on the engine im looking into buying the guy said that the # is 4 also..... but he wasnt exactly sure if the motor would match up being that it was newer then the one that was in the car originally......sooo.. can someone tell me if its at all possible for me to take the 98 3.8L and put it in the 95 without any problem at all?
And what about changeing the rear end if it does fit? or will it not matter beings its the same size engine that comes out of the car???
i apreciate any feedback at all......
Thanks and have a nice day......
