Quick question!! Need help fast please!... Steering wheel question!!!...
I don't mean to sound ignorant, but how the hell do you pull the steering wheel off? I have an 87'GT and need to pull off the factory wheel and install a new one. I bought a puller, but I swear to god that I can't get it off!!! I need to get this done ASAP. Is there some trick or any advise or anything to help me with. Thanx guys, I really need the help and appreciate the help.

My puller might be different but this is how I do it, nothing tricky. The big nut is out, I put bolts into the two holes on either side of the steering shaft, put the grippers of the puller on the heads of the bolts and the shaft of the puller on the steering shaft, tighten the puller and it usually just pops off.

I have to crank mine so hard that I can't get it though. I am so affraid to snap the tilt mechanism or the lock on the column, or something else. I am putting so much force on the wrench that I seriously feel like something is going to break and I don't feel like doing that.

Put some tension on it with the puller and then try grabbing the wheel and giving it a jerk, or maybe tapping it at the back with a soft faced hammer, it probalby needs a bit of a shock. If that doesn't work I'd suggest taking it to a professional, or someone who's done this a few times.
