Convertable top problems
 
1990 Mustang top goes down fine but needs manual help to go up. Any suggesstions?

Check the convertible top motor. The fluid in it may be low. I think that you'll have to remove the rear seat in order to get at the motor. At least that's what I had to do in my 86. Goodluck!

the hydraulics which lower/raise the roof could be leaking..that's what happened to me a few years ago in my 89, or the top motor could be going bad....in the 89 it's right behind the seat...no need to remove..just remove the medal bar on the top of the back seat to get access to the motor. either way it's a dirty job to replace, but can be done with a nice savings.
