Dual confusion

I know there are a lot of posts on here about dual exhaust. But, i have a few questions. Does anyone have any idea where to get a tru dual exhuast system for a 2001 mustang V6. I am aware that take off gt exhausts are available, but what about the rear bumper cut outs? also, if i do choose the take off system, what mufflers do you recomend for a nice muscle car sound. I saw that flowmaster has a nice dual system for my car, but i don;t know if it is true dual or not. Any links to sites that sell true dual kits would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

To get true dual on my 97 V-6, the muffler shop cut the Y pipe about 3-4 inches behind the cats and welded the new exhaust pipes on there. The pipes go into two dual-chamber flowmasters and out the rear end of the car. Here's link to a what was done to my car. This is NOT my car in the photo.

arivera do you have any more pics of the full setup because i would like to see how it is around the back area. i have talked to a unch of muffler shops and they are all thelling me theres not enough room for this and that and nobody can seem to come up with any solutions for anything. this is all without even putting the car up to look at it. I know everyone else does there own things with the same space as me but i cant find anyone who's willing to even discuss options.

Is the H-pipe in that pic custom cause it looked like the pipe in between the two was welded in special?

Here's another view. Again, this is NOT my car.

I don't understand what they are telling you doesn't fit but I'd look for another shop.

If you want true duals grab a GT take-off cat-back exhaust kit and drop the coin for a off-road H-pipe.

For mufflers I would suggest Flowmaster 3 chambers or Mac Flowpaths

Another place to check out info for dual exhaust on the 3.8's is http://www.3.8mustang.com
They have a tech section there with some info on dual exhaust for the v-6's.

Hope that helps.

Daniel.

I have a MAC off-road H-pipe and 2 chamber flowmaster system. No GT take off here. Mine sounds great and lots more power.
