engine oil needle

Hello stang lovers,
I noticed a few times my engine oil needle on the instrument panel flickers back and forth a few times then it stops in the middle position.
Any indication as to why this happens and is there a fix?
Regards,
chan

My 89 coupe (shorty) does that too. I disreguard it and check the oil about once a week myself.
