4.10's - AOD and a Supercharger good idea?
Hey all,
I was going to ask in the other 4.10 topic, but this one is a little different. Here are my mods: NOVI 1000 6lb Lentech Street VB Custom 2600RPM Stall (made by Edge Racing Converters) E303 Aluminum Driveshaft MAC Exhaust I was wondering if I should run 373 or 410 gears??? I do not want to run through the traps at a huge rpm. Ian

Do you have the stock heads/ intake now? If so then I'd bet you would run low 13s at somewhere around 105-106mph.
In this case, I'd opt for the 4.10's. Your blower is gonna need a little RPM to build some boost and IMO the 4.10s will suit it nicely. If you do plan on getting some good heads and an intake then I'd stick with 3.73's or even 3.55's. Either way, your gonna need some sticky tires. (and possibly a new AOD after a few passes )

Thanks for the reply
My car will only see the track once (or maybe a couple of times), just to get the time. It will be a street machine. I do have stock heads and intake, and that will not change for a while. I am confident that the AOD will hold up. With the VB and a nice cooler she will be ok I do have nice tires, 275 out back. Any more opinions?? Ian

I think the 3.73 would be better. Although the 4.10 will help the blower build boost quicker, I was going through the traps pretty high up there on RPM with 3.73's & the AOD. Not sure what your situation is on tire size, etc. (Which all equate into finish line RPM), but I think it will be more driveable with the 3.73's.

I agree with the Princess I wouldn't go any higher than 373's...
