Header?
Who makes a header for an '86 mustang 2.3l and how much?
I am going to do a motor swap to a 302 but not for a while, until I can get the motor that I want. What can I do that is not to expensive for now to keep up to the local Hondas? |
Ford Motorsport and Pacesetter both have headers that will fit your car.

Gears, gears, gears. Change the rear end gears to 3.45 or 3.73. After that, install a free flowing 2 1/4" exhaust system. The 2.3 exhaust manifold is pretty good as is. Do all the free mods; chuck the air intake silencer, advance the timing as far as you can without pinging, and get rid of as much unnecessary weight as possible. Also switch to synthetic oil. I've done it on three cars, and noticed a slight increase in power.
------------------ E-cam, pullies, 3.27, Mac Off-road, 2 chamber Flowmasters, 5 lug conversion, PRO-5 Shifter (WOW, what a difference!) |
