Default Loss power 2005 mustang

Driving down the highway yesterday, I went to pass and the engine, almost went into a stall. As I drove it longer, it got worse. As I accelerate, it acts like it is starved for gas. When I stop, I can hear the fuel pump reving up, and down, like its getting gas, and then not. When I sit for a while, it will drive normal for about 10 minutes, then start again. My thought is fuel filter. Any help would be appreciated, and where would the filter be located.

Yes, Check engine light came on, about 30 miles after the fact. Driving it today, it appears, the warming up of the engine that starts the problem. Usually takes about 20 minutes of driving, then it goes from plenty of power, to nothing when you accelerate. It feels like its running out of gas, but of course its not. I replace the air filter, and going to change the fuel filter.

I had the same thing happen in my old Cherokee. Had to replace the fuel pump. Good luck!

Right now its at the Ford dealer. Its my belief, its the fuel pump. But I told them, you built it, so you fix it, don't call me until its ready for pickup

Good luck Gary. Shame since its so new. I hope its not a "recall" thing. I'd hate to think I have to take my '05 in!
