My 1995 mustang lx
Hey everyone. I picked up a beautiful 1995 mustang convertable (3.8 v6) a few months ago. It's great.. but of course it lacks a little power. I read the post about the guys 2000 3.8 v6. I just was wondering if the reccomendations that were made for him are the same for me? And if they are not, could you give me a few suggestions about what I can do for some more hp? any websites that sell what I need?
thanks for all your help! nick |
Go for some dual exhaust, maybe a chip, Vortech supercharger, gears, ect.... There all worth the money on a V6. How much do you want to spend?

Well I plan on doing the silencer, the k&n and probably the exhaust. I can probably get away with all of the above for way under $500 and not too much intensive work. The chip is an option but I don't know how much extra equipment is needed to tune and modify it's settings. (Because I have none.) The supercharger is out of the question. I don't have enough knowledge and I don't have money. So basically I think i'll probably end up doing the silence, cai, k&n, chip and exhaust. does that sound reasonable? i figure that to be about 20 or so extra hp.

Sounds like a reasonable plan for more power but at some point, seriously consider a 'steeper' rear gearset.
About a $400. job (a pro should do the installation) but very rewarding in terms of off-the-line punch without touching the engine configuration or affecting drivability, other than the increased urge to floor it all the time! |
thanks for the ideas guys. what a great bulletin board! i will truely think about a different gearset. would be nice to blow away those little cars that think they are the sh*t instead of just beat them. http://www.mustangworks.com/interact...oard/smile.gif
