Default My little Mustang needs a new engine

Hello. I have a 1980 Mustang 4 cylinder that I've been told will not run again without a new engine. I can't afford to get it done in a shop (2500.) I really want to save it , does anyone here who lives in Northern NJ want to work on it for about half that? I also want to get some rust repair and a paint job. If you're building a portfolio I could help by getting you before, during, and after pics of any size. Or if you have any advice that would be great too. Thanx

I would be glad to help you if I lived in NJ. I live way south so no can do. You may be able to go to a junk yard and get an old 5.0L for real cheap and swap it out.

Not sure if the junk yard people would. It is not too hard of a swap. just have to have the right tools.
