Default new Mustang owner

I am a recent Mustang owner, and I was wondering what small things can be done to increase performance.I am not looking for race results, but just getting from Point A to B a little quicker. I have already replaced the air filter. I have a 98, v-6 5-speed.

Go to www.need-4-speed.com, they have a 3.8 liter performance corner. I think tou will be quite amazed at the upgrades available for your particular steed. Let me know what you think.

Thanks for the info. It is a pretty good site. I was looking in MM&FF and they have an article about a V-6 stock that they put a Vortec Supercharger and installed a dual exhaust system and it actually had 10.9 more HP than a GT. They didn't mention anything about the price of the exhaust system, and I was wondering if anyone new anything about it.

Hey Brett- I Believe I can help you with the exhaust question. I have a '95 3.8L and I had duals put on a few weeks ago. I took it to a local muffler shop and they did custom pipework from the catalytic converters (after cutting out my old system), then put on two Dynomax Super-Turbo mufflers, and finished up with stainless steel factory Cobra tips. It looks and sounds excellent. I have already fooled several people into thinking it's a 5.0, even after they hear it. Avoid putting Flowmasters on it, no matter what anyone else tells you. They are designed for V-8's and will make your car sound like an angry bumble-bee. The whole thing cost me $325 out the door. I got a good deal on the tips (over 50% off), but even so, you could still do it for about $400 or less. this is still cheaper than buying all the parts from a magazine and then having someone put them on for you. If you have anymore questions, please E-mail me at Terrifson@aol.com. Good luck. P.S.> MM&FF is right about the power figures. About 10 bhp and 20 lb-ft of torque is what you'll get.

Hey driver,
Where did you get a 50% off deal on the cobra exhaust tips?? I wouldn't mind having some if I can catch the same deal.

Hey Stormdeer,
I purely lucked out. When I went in to get the work done, the manager of the place was out, and the next guy in charge quoted the price of the tips (which they just happened to have in stock) at $30 apiece instead of $70. When the boss came back he had to give me the discount. The customer is always right, after all...
