Noisey Brakes when backing

I recently purchased a 98 3.8 for my daughter. I am hearing a loud resonant sound when backing out of the driveway and applying the brakes. It doesn't seem to happen when backing on flat ground, just the driveway which is slightly angled. Any suggestions?

do you have drums or disc brakes on the back. if it is disc check the caliper hardware. i have found on some of the earlier 90's mustangs the slider bolts allow the caliper out of adjustment and will rub abnormally. if it is drum, check the drum and pads it my be timee for a brake job.
