Catalytic converters !!!

Does anybody know which brand makes the highest flowing cats either in an H or X pipe??? I was thinking of going 3" or staying with 2 1/2 not sure yet, matters what is availiable and what will fit decent. I am wanting flow cuz I want to leave in and not just put in for emissions. Tabs expire next week and was going to go down today when it dawned on me that I have no cats, so I kind of need some opinions so I can get something coming. Thanks

Also if I go with a 3" H or X pipe will it bolt inbetween the shorty headers and flowmaster cat back???

What are your mod's? I have no idea who makes good high-flows, but unless you have some major mods or are planning to do some major stuff, you should stick with 2.5in.

As of now I have a blown 302 with heads, cam, intake and couple of other things. will turn into a 347 by fall if all goes right so I don't mind going a tad big for now. I could stand to loose some bottom end to get this thing to hook up. I don't mind staying with 2.5" but don't know who flows the best.

Hey..
You have a lot of balls to make a blown 347..that will be a walking timebomb...i would love to see what it would run though..

Smokedawg I assume you are running a 347 in the stock block. Do you know what kind of numbers you are putting down?? How do you like it?? I have a new sportsman block sitting in the garage so I should be fine. Can't make that much power http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/wink.gif

Ya, Smokedawg, I talked about this with hime before, and then he said he was using a sportsman block, so I guess its ok. Is that a 4 bolt block?

If your gonna do that, then go with 3in pipes.

I was thinking toward the 3" do you know if that will clear the tires or will I be stuck running dumps??

The sportsman block is a beefier two bolt main block. If you look it is noticably beefier. The main caps are also thicker than the stock one.
