Auto Trans Cooler Question
 

I'am going to add an auto trans cooler to my 02 Stang.I plan on going through the radiator first then through the add on cooler,on my radiator the trans tubes are vertical upper and lower. Does anyone know which tube is the return to the trans the upper or lower.My guess is that the return tube would be the lower one.

An easy way to tell flow is to disconnect one of the lines. Then bump over the ignition a few times, but don't let the car start. Check to see if tranny fluid flows either from the line or the radiator. That should help determine flow if no one reply's with which line is what.

Well I was wrong, the top line is the return to trans line. I found that out by first trying to tell the difference in tempture the cooler one would be the return.Then I removed the upper line and thats where the fluid came from.Trans cooler Install complete,got the largest cooler I could get(for 10,000 lb towing),custom mounting,1/8"x1" steel bars pot rivited to the frame for mounting,install took a day not 30 min like the instructions said,but I like to make a project out of it and do it right
