Turbo 4 banger ?

A friend of mine has an '86 Lx 4 banger and was wondering if a turbo off an older 'stang(4 banger) would work. Thanks for the replies in advance.

HE WOULD BE BETTER OFF TO GET THE WHOLE MOTOR BECAUSE THE NATURALLY ASPIRATED MOTOR USES CAST PISTONS AND HAS SMALLER INJECTORS AND A COMPRESSION RATIO OF 9 TO 1.THE FACTORY TURBO MOTOR USES FORGED PISTONS,BIGGER INJECTORS AND HAS A COMPRESSION RATIO OF 8 TO 1.HE WILL ALSO NEED THE COMPUTER FOR THE TURBO AND ALSO MAY HAVE TO DO SOME WIRING CHANGES.

In simpler terms, don't do it. You will 'most likely' end up blowing a piston or busting the block. You can add the turbo but don't run above 8psi of boost. You will need the exaughst manifold, and computer, wiring harness for the bcs, and vaf/vat.

Thanks for the replies! He was going to rebuld his motor anyway so maybe he can find an old turbo 4 banger and rebulid it instead.
