1984 GT Turbo

My g/f has been looking at a 84 Mustang GT Turbo. She's wondering how well the factory turbocharger holds up after having 150,000 km on it. And was the paint on these cars supposed to be rippled at the bottom below the plastic molding? I've heard that the paint on the 84's is known to come off easily is this true, it sounds like b/s to me? What trans is installed in them, was it a t-5 or t-45 or something else? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

As for your questions; I would imagine the turbo has been rebuilt by now. If not, plan on doing it.

I believe the ripple effect on the lower paint is a protection against stones, etc.
I would assume that if the '84's had bad paint jobs, it would be pretty obvious by now, 16 years later.

The transmission is a modified T-5.

This is a rare Mustang and a real find.
Expect to pay well for it, unless the owner is either hiding something or doesn't know what he has.
