4 cyl to 5.0 HO? How to?

I am purchasing a 1989 4 cyl mustang. I have the complete power train from a 1986 Mercury Capri RS which I would like to install in the 1989 4 cyl.Is there a lot of work involved and will the front end of the 4 cyl. carry the 5.0

Hey,

Not too sure about the 5.0 conversion but I heard it was rather easy. There is plenty of room to accomodate the 5.0. You will need to get a different computer. Other than that, a new transmission and upgraded cooling systems shall work nicely.

the 5.0 will fit in the 4cyl. u will need different motor mounts. the car will sit lower in the front cause of the added weight of the bigger motor. just think of it as a lowering springs (lol) but it might feel a little weird. u will need new fuel lines because there on the passengers side of the car in a 5.0 compaired to the drivers side of a 4 cyl. theres a bunch of other stuff too, but i'm not sire of it all.

You did not say if you have a manual or auto. The manual will have to be modified/ changed.
