Default Purge Valve Fault P1443 Problem!

At a generic shop their diagnostic machine ODB-II came up with this error code, P1443 which is a PURGE VALVE FAULT or EVAPP CONTROL FAILURE. My car has had the check engine light on and off for a couple of months but it seems to run fine.

Does anybody know anything about this particular problem and how to correct it myself?

Thanks in advance
