putting a 2.3 svo turbo on an 88 efi?
 

I'm planning on putting a turbo from a 2.3 SVO engine on a 1988 2.3 EFI engine. What needs to be done, other than changing the computer? Has anyone done this, or heard of it done?

No I've never done it or known anyone who has had it done, but I'm guessing you'll need new forged pistons and stronger gaskets. Good luck!

PS. It might be easier to just do a total engine swap to the 2.3 turbo. Or give your N/A 2.3 a small shot of Nitrous.

just put a 5.0 in its the same amount of work

Idid this in a 91 ranger I had It was mass air I don't know if your 88 is or not if it is than you can runn 4#'s all day long without changing anything if you want to run more than that you need an ecm and map senser ( I got mine from Ak Miller out in cali for $600) that will properly read boost also on you stock bottom end you don't really want to run more than about 8 pounds even with the proper ecm.
