Post Engine swap - paint tips? New oil pan?

I'm getting ready to yank the engine out of the vert and drop it in the 93. I want to paint it while it's out. What's the best way to prep it so the paint sticks? Degreaser and water? Brake cleaner? Should I primer it first or just spray it with engine paint?
Also, should I bother with a 7 qt oil pan or just stick with stock?

THIS JUST IN!! All the good stuff is going in the new red 93 GT - no more rattles!

I would use degreaser to knock all the debris off then, use brake clean or a cleaner like inhibosol or Carb cleaner. Then I used Dupont Hi-Temp Engine Paint with ceramic it holds up very well and is resistant to anti-freeze and oil and some other chemicals.

If your stock pan is in good shape then just put a new gasket on that or get the 7qt it wouldn't hurt. I like my 7qt Canton, but oil changes can get expensive if you run synthetic.

If you are going to do the pan then get a windage tray. Good hp increase for the money.

when we painted my heads we used carb cleaner. Actually we use carb cleaner for everything that need's to be degreased, depainted, de-anything'd.

My Canton has built in baffles and a Crank scaper so I thought the windage tray wasn't needed.
