Question Service Woes

I just pulled in my 04 3.9V6 for the 30K mile maintenance. I get the impression that my clutch is slipping, but they dont see a problem. Also, tires are BALD, wtf is going on here? Anyone else have this problem?
Would installing an aluminum driveshaft have any noticeable positve effect on ride quality? My blue oval maintenance technichian doesn't know "why in the hell I would want to do that to my car."

He also doesnt recommend changing my 16in wheels to something larger for more stability, and doesnt know if upper or lower control arms would help either. Please God Somebody Help Me.......

tires will wear out within 30k miles....it all depends on the treadwear rating on the sidewall of the tire. it also depends on your driving and how much you use the gas pedal.
an aluminum driveshaft won't change your ride quality at all. The idea behind an aluminum driveshaft is less rotating mass for your engine to drive.....there's alot more things i'd do before installing an aluminum driveshaft.
rear upper and lower control arms are an awesome investment, they make mustangs handle so much better and get rid of the "tail wag" you get if you steer back on forth while driving (that shows how much the rubber bushings deflect). Upper and lower control arms will keep the back of the car under control and will get rid of sloppy handling if you're taking a hard corner.
also, if you get a higher speed rated 16" tire (something with a stiffer sidewall) your car will also handle much better and be more responsive....but the tradeoff is tirewear. the stickier the tire, the less mileage you'll get out of it. You could get the 17" GT wheels (i'd stick with factory made wheels, they always have the right offset and the quality is much better than alot of aftermarket), they handle really well.....but the tradeoff with that is you need a smaller, stiffer sidewall tire, handles way better - but it'll catch every rut in the road so you have to pay attention while driving. My cobra with 17" wheels goes all over the road when there is ruts.
I don't know everything, but i worked on fords for 4.5 years and was a ford senior master technician, so i like to think i know a thing or two.

One thing with yours do you have 15 or 16 inch rims on your car. If you have the 15" in. rim you can go up to a 225/60/15 or 16 in. rim 225/55/16 which should be stock size. Depending on where you live Merchants/NTB/B-O tires are selling buy 3 get 1 free on the Yoko AS-430 60k tire great all around traction $132. ea. And If you have the 15" in tires $112. ea. Another good tire to look at with great all around traction is the BF Goodrich Traction T/A 60k tire. But If you have any questions about tires like me know I work as an Assistant Manager at Merchants Tire.

If you wanted to go to 17" in rim you could get 245/45/17 Yokohama AS430 $138. ea/BF Goodrich G-Force Sport $124. ea/ BF Goodrich G-Force T/A KDWS $150. ea
