The problem you are experiencing is your throwout bearing has gone bad and needs to be replaced. It won't hurt anything if you don't fix it right away. I drove with mine that way for so long that when I did fix it I still put my foot on the pedal. When you do change your throwout bearing, Check the input shaft seal as the throwout bearing will wear a groove into the seal shaft. Chances are you may have the stock aluminum input shaft seal and you will want to check on a steel one as they last longer. Hope this is helpful, good luck
